Trial of Russian Intelligence Network Members in Odesa

In Odesa, a trial is taking place against women who were part of a Russian intelligence network that coordinated fire on military and medical facilities in the city. They provided information on at least 10 such sites. Two of the offenders are in custody, while the third is serving an 8-year prison sentence.

This was reported by the Odesa regional prosecutor's office.

Law enforcement stated that the accused, under the guidance of a Russian intelligence officer, collected information about the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and important infrastructure sites in Odesa.

"The organizer of the network turned out to be a 23-year-old local resident. Following the curator's instructions, she involved two of her friends in criminal activities who also supported the aggressor's actions. They personally wrote and sent statements to the curator regarding employment in one of the Russian special services.

For several months, the trio gathered and sent via messenger text messages, photos, videos, and Google Maps screenshots of the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, recruitment centers, hospitals, and air defense systems. The network members managed to inform the occupants about at least 10 targets," the statement said.

For their "work," the women managed to receive $500, and in case of Odesa's occupation, they planned to take leadership positions in the trade management.

The accused were apprehended in June 2024 while collecting information about the location of a military unit. Currently, two women are in custody, and the third is already serving an 8-year sentence. Considering cooperation with the investigation, genuine remorse, and committing the crime while pregnant, the court assigned her a lighter sentence than stipulated by law.
