Increased Electricity Consumption in Ukraine Due to Heat Wave

On Friday, July 25, electricity consumption is increasing across Ukraine due to the hot weather.

This was reported by NEC "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.

"As of 9:30 AM on July 25, electricity consumption was 6.9% higher than at the same time the previous day – Thursday. The reason is the heat across the country. Additionally, cloudy weather with rain in parts of the western and northern regions is causing low efficiency of household power plants and increased electricity usage from the overall grid," the message states.

On July 24, a daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening, which was 1.7% higher than the peak of the previous day – Wednesday.

Ukrenergo reminded that the Ukrainian energy system continues to recover from the Russian missile and drone attacks. Emergency recovery works at energy facilities are ongoing.

The company emphasized the need for economical electricity consumption and urged the public to limit the use of high-power devices until 10 PM.
