Memorial Stand at Victory Square in Izmail

A new stand dedicated to the memory of fallen Heroes has been installed at Victory Square in Izmail – this serves as a temporary memorial until the completion of Glory Alley.

On July 17, an informational stand featuring portraits of the fallen was unveiled in Izmail. This decision was made by the executive committee during the construction of the memorial complex “Glory Alley”, as reported by Bessarabia INFORM.

There are plans to erect 22 flagpoles, each symbolizing the military unit where the fallen defenders served. The portraits displayed on the stand include not only those from Izmail but also fighters from other communities whose families submitted relevant applications.

Military serviceman Oleg Dyachenko noted that the idea for this space arose from the desire to unite the families of the fallen and missing, as well as to provide residents the opportunity to pay their respects.

“Here we can observe a moment of silence. The city council listened to us, and we achieved mutual understanding. Now people visiting our city can see our Heroes. This is very important. Of course, we want each soldier to have a separate banner with information about the fallen, and we insisted on this”, – he emphasized.

Meanwhile, work continues on the full-fledged Glory Alley featuring large portraits of the heroes.
