Innovative Rescue Strategies: Utilizing Drones for Fire Monitoring
In the Odesa region, rescue services are adopting advanced technologies, including drones, for effective aerial monitoring. This not only aids in early fire detection but also enhances the firefighting process. Additionally, drones are utilized to identify individuals who deliberately set fires.
This information comes from the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
"The increasing number of fires in open areas poses a significant threat. According to environmental inspection data, damages from these fires have already surpassed 24 billion hryvnias in 2025. To respond promptly, rescuers are deploying unmanned aerial vehicles for monitoring," the statement reads.
The use of UAVs allows:
- early detection of fires;
- quick coordination of rescue actions;
- documenting offenders who intentionally ignite dry vegetation.
