Harvest Leaders in Ukraine: Odesa Takes the Lead

Farmers in the Odesa region have established themselves as the leaders of the 2025 harvest in Ukraine. As of June 27, they have harvested 132.3 thousand tons of new grain, which accounts for more than half of the national total.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian farmers have begun their harvest, and by June 27, they have harvested 74.3 thousand hectares and collected 188.1 thousand tons of early grains and legumes.

"Ukrainian farmers have started the harvest. As of June 27, 74.3 thousand hectares have been harvested, with 188.1 thousand tons of early grains and legumes collected. The collection of rapeseed has also begun," reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Currently, harvesting has begun in three regions of Ukraine - Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk. However, Odesa farmers are demonstrating the best results, outpacing their closest competitors by several times. Farmers in Mykolaiv have harvested 43.7 thousand tons of grain, while Dnipropetrovsk has only managed 8.3 thousand tons.

Overall, Ukrainian agricultural producers have harvested 22.4 thousand tons of wheat from 10.5 thousand hectares, 151.6 thousand tons of barley from 55.4 thousand hectares, and 14.2 thousand tons of peas from 8.4 thousand hectares.

In addition to grain crops, agricultural producers from Mykolaiv and Odesa have started collecting rapeseed, which has been harvested from an area of 4.2 thousand hectares. This indicates that the southern regions of Ukraine traditionally remain the breadbasket of the country due to favorable climatic conditions and early ripening of crops.
