Open Day at the Animal Shelter
The charity organizations "Happy Paw" and "Ark-Odessa" are hosting an open day on May 4th. The goal of the event is to promote the adoption of homeless animals, allowing as many cats and dogs as possible to find their new families.
Currently, the "Ark-Odessa" shelter cares for over 800 animals. Organizers note that each new arrival adds significant strain on staff and existing residents due to health risks and food shortages.
"Open Day is a wonderful opportunity for families to spend enjoyable time together, especially for those who have long dreamed of adopting a pet but don’t know how to start. ... Supporting homeless animals can be done not only financially but also through time, effort, and most importantly, attention", reads the announcement.
During the event, there will be guided tours of the shelter, instructions on how to behave in a shelter, and stories about the lives of local cats and dogs. Visitors will also have the chance to help the shelter with activities like cleaning, feeding, dog walking, and playing with cats.
The open day will take place on May 4th at 12:00 PM at: 1st Sorting St., 22.
