Students Learn About Combating Drug Crime
The event featured the deputy head of the drug crime unit of the National Police in the Odessa region, Dmitry Chekmarov.
Third-year students from the Institute of Law and Security had a unique opportunity to receive important knowledge from a police specialist in combating drug-related crimes, who shared insights on the importance of collaboration between investigators and operational units, along with his practical experience in the field.
«Fighting drug crime is a complex and multifaceted process that requires coordinated efforts from all police divisions. It is crucial not just to arrest drug dealers, but also to identify and dismantle drug labs and track the entire supply chain to dependent individuals,» noted Dmitry Chekmarov.
During the session, students learned about the specifics of covert investigative activities, methods, and forms of operational search activities in this area.
The demonstration of photo and video materials from crime scenes related to illegal drug trafficking particularly captured the students' interest.
