New Academic Year in Odesa: Challenges and Hopes
The new academic year has begun in Odesa's educational institutions, starting on September 2, coinciding with the city’s day of celebration.
The main goal of a modern teacher is to create a comfortable environment, be present, support children during tough times, instill a sense of safety and confidence, and lay the groundwork for quality education.
The first lesson of the new academic year, titled “Vincit qui meminit (He who remembers conquers),” was dedicated to honoring the memory of Ukraine's defenders who lost their lives in the fight for independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our nation.
“May the nights be peaceful and the dawns happy… may everyone who longs for Odesa finally return home. May the Lord protect every child, every family, and every Defender. May He strengthen our soldiers in their sacred mission, and may people pay due respect to those who made it possible for us to celebrate the day here in Odesa. We can learn, live, dream, and achieve success. This has the highest price. Thousands of lives, thousands of voices, smiles, and eyes that we must remember. We are starting. And this is already immense happiness,” stated Olena Buinievych, the director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council.
