Fire Erupts in Odesa Region, Woman Injured While Extinguishing

A fire broke out in the Berezivskyi district of Odesa, igniting dry grass on the grounds of an abandoned private house. A woman sustained burns while trying to extinguish the fire herself. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.

The incident occurred on June 25 in the village of Kozlove. On Hryhorii Skovoroda Street, dry grass and bushes were ablaze on the territory of an abandoned property. Firefighters, along with the local fire brigade, managed to contain the fire. During her attempt to extinguish the flames, a 77-year-old woman sustained burns to her right leg.

"The fire was extinguished over an area of 0.05 hectares. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damages were reported. The State Emergency Service deployed 1 unit of equipment and 5 rescuers, while the local fire brigade sent out 1 unit of equipment and 2 personnel," the statement read.
