Enhancements to Street Lighting in Odessa
Experts from the Municipal Enterprise «Odesmskvitlo» continuously work on updating and repairing street lighting in the city’s streets, parks, and squares, as well as addressing emergency situations.
Regular inspections of street lighting components (poles, distribution cabinets, lamps, etc.) are conducted to identify faulty or vandalized elements. The electricians of the enterprise carry out tasks such as cable network upgrades, replacing old lamps with new ones, tree trimming, resolving emergencies, and more.
In 2024, within the framework of ongoing repairs, electricians replaced 2390 lamps and 380 brackets, and updated 75003 meters of the cable network.
The workers also trimmed 7632 trees that were damaging the electrical networks.
Additionally, the specialists of «Odesmskvitlo» replaced street lighting poles.
Frequently, due to emergencies or the expiration of service life, street lighting poles become unusable. The replacement of poles is a labor-intensive process that requires special equipment.
Since the beginning of 2024, the enterprise’s specialists have replaced 64 emergency poles, 10 of which were damaged due to traffic accidents.
In October of this year, a case of vandalism was recorded on the Health Route, where unknown individuals damaged the equipment of 10 poles, stealing automatic switches and cables.

Article 194. Intentional destruction or damage to property
1. Intentional destruction or damage to someone else's property causing substantial harm is punishable by a fine of up to fifty (850 UAH) non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, community service, or imprisonment for up to three years.
Article 296. Hooliganism
1. Hooliganism, i.e., gross violation of public order from motives of obvious disrespect for society, is punishable by a fine from five hundred (8500 UAH) to one thousand (17000 UAH) non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or imprisonment for up to five years.
