Odessa Prepares for Winter: New Pipeline Deliveries
Odessa is actively preparing for the winter season through hydraulic testing of heating networks, which is a crucial requirement for ensuring effective heating.
The pipes are being tested for strength and tightness to prevent accidents during the heating season, while the temperature of the heat carrier remains below 40°C. Sections that cannot be repaired are being replaced with new ones.
As part of the winter preparations, assistance is being provided by the USAID Energy Security Project.
In the past month, four shipments of pre-insulated steel pipes, along with components and shut-off valves, were delivered to the municipal enterprise KP «TMO».
In total, the enterprise received pre-insulated steel pipes with polyurethane insulation:
- diameter 325 — 816 meters;
- diameter 219 — 24 meters;
- diameter 108 — 78 meters;
- diameter 57 — 14 meters.
Additionally, KP «TMO» received: ball valves, heat shrink sleeves, fixed supports, detachable sleeves, sealing rings, joint insulation kits, and compensatory cushions.
This assistance will enable the continuation of scheduled work on replacing damaged heating networks.
KP «TMO» urges residents and visitors of Odessa to park their vehicles only in authorized areas and to avoid approaching areas where ground subsidence has been observed. They are also encouraged to report such cases to the specialized center for prompt responses in the housing and communal services sector — 15-01.
