New Street and Park Names in Odesa
On September 24th, the Odesa City Council held a session where new names for several locations were approved:
- Chapayeva Street has been renamed to Vyacheslav Kyrylov Street (Peresyp District),
- Serednia Street is now known as Oleksandr Svysh Street (Hadzhybei District).
Additionally, the park at the intersection of Fontanska Road and Lesya Ukrainka Avenue has been named “Lesya Ukrainka Park” (Primorsky District).
These renaming initiatives were recommended by the Historical and Toponymic Commission under the Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council and underwent an electronic public discussion process.
The necessary changes have been incorporated into the decision of the Odesa City Council dated November 9, 2005, No. 4858-IV concerning the naming of streets, alleys, avenues, squares, parks, squares, bridges, and other structures located within the city of Odesa.
