Summer Blooming in Odesa: New Floral Arrangements
Greenery specialists in Odesa have initiated a new phase of work by planting summer flowers that will become part of the urban landscape. The floral arrangements will include salvias, geraniums, begonias, petunias, ageratum, tagetes, and chlorophytum.
The first blooms have already adorned the Exchange Square and the flower beds near the Primorsky District Administration, replacing the spring flowers. This year, a total of 350,000 summer flowers are planned for planting.
According to the Municipal Enterprise 'Miskzelentrest', summer flowers will be planted across all city districts in place of the spring blooms that have already faded.
Today, 72 bushes were also planted in Odesa. Perennial plants such as junipers, hibiscus, and broom are being planted with a closed root system for better adaptation to urban conditions.
The young plants have beautified the median strip along Nebesna Sotnya Avenue and Prince Yaroslav the Wise Avenue.

All flower seedlings, including summer and spring flowers, are cultivated in greenhouses at the 'Troyanda' site. Annually, around 1 million plants are grown here, along with 11,000 decorative-leaved trees. Additionally, greenery specialists plant approximately 40,000 perennial plants sourced from the enterprise's greenhouses.
Starting in September, preparations for the next year’s greenhouse planting begin. The 'Troyanda' site features a 4,000 square meter greenhouse complex and 2,000 square meters of hotbeds, managed by 29 greenery specialists and 3 engineering and technical staff.
Traditionally, the first spring flowers, such as daisies and violas, adorn Odesa in early April, before being replaced by summer flowers. The Municipal Enterprise 'Miskzelentrest' manages over 547.71 hectares of land, including 16 parks and 79 squares.
