Exhibition 'Unseen Strength' at the Odessa Museum
February 7, 2025 marks the opening of the exhibition titled «Unseen Strength» at the Odessa National Art Museum.
This project highlights the nonviolent resistance of Ukrainians in temporarily occupied areas: various resistance movements, combat methods, as well as informational, artistic, and female resistance, featuring real stories of struggle against the aggressor.
During the opening, curator Olga Mukha will guide attendees through the exhibition.
Starts at 3:00 PM. Free admission.
The exhibition will showcase: cartoon figures of «liberators» by Serhiy Zakharov seen in Donetsk streets in 2014, viral memes by Maksym Palenko, video stories about «injured» cultural objects in Trostianets and Okhtyrka, filmed by the Museum Crisis Center as part of the «Wounded Culture» project, and a consciousness maze «Inside Appearance» featuring posters by Crimean artist Antik Danov.
Exclusively for this exhibition, the third episode of the «Wounded Culture» series titled «Odessa. Oral History» will be presented, recounting the story of the Russian missile strike on the Odessa Art Museum on November 5, 2023, and the subsequent recovery.
The presentation of the new episode and a discussion will take place on February 8 at 4:00 PM with the director of the «Territory of Terror» museum, cultural expert Olga Honchar.
