Art Exhibition Promoting Blood Donation
The Odessa Church hosted a unique art exhibition titled "Blood - Life," dedicated to promoting blood donation.
This exhibition creatively reinterprets the significance of blood donation through artistic imagery, organized in collaboration with the project "Donor Odessa" by faculty and students of the graphic arts department of the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky.
The theme of love for one's neighbor and saving lives through sharing blood resonates deeply with Christian values.
Symbolically, a mural depicting a large red stain, representing the blood of Jesus Christ, is painted above the altar of the Odessa Church, uniting all who come to the altar and partake in communion.
"During donation, people exchange blood regardless of nationality, faith, or personal beliefs. If we believe in one God, everything that divides us should take a backseat. Today, we strive to showcase our unity and readiness to help one another," said Pastor Alexander Gross during the exhibition opening.
Additionally, the opening ceremony included the awarding of diplomas and gifts to the students and faculty who contributed significantly to the exhibition's creation.
Honored Artist of Ukraine, Dean Dmytro Velychko, along with other esteemed artists and young creators, collectively produced over 40 works that highlight the beauty of donation and encourage participation in saving lives.
This exhibition marks the first in Ukraine featuring 3D art objects focused on blood donation, showcased in the cathedral premises.
The exhibition is open for visitors for the next month.
Address: Novoselskoho Street, 68, Church.
Admission is free.
