Exhibition "Revival and Inspiration" at the Odesa Museum

On April 26, the Odesa Municipal Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov will open the exhibition «Revival and Inspiration» featuring artist-restorer Inna Rusina. This exhibition highlights the unique style of the master, who combines her high-level expertise in art restoration with personal artistic expression.

This information was reported by the Odesa Municipal Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov.

Inna Arkadievna Rusina was one of the founders of the Odesa branch of the National Scientific Research Restoration Center of Ukraine and has been working there since 1987. For her long-term contribution to the development of this important national center, she was awarded the Order of Princess Olga III degree in 2008.

The artist has been participating in exhibitions since 1979 and has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1990. Inna Rusina is a participant in international, national, and regional art exhibitions. Her works are kept in the Odesa National Art Museum, the Odesa Museum of History and Local Lore, the Kirovohrad Regional Council Museum of Arts, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Local Lore Museum, as well as in private collections and galleries around the world.

The exhibition will be presented in two halls:

Hall «Revival»

The exhibition includes six works from the museum's collection, which underwent restoration from 1992 to 2023 under the guidance of Inna Rusina. Each exhibit is accompanied by stands with photographs and annotations that tell about the state of the work before restoration, the stages of the process, and the final result.

Today, under martial law in Ukraine, the role of restoration centers becomes particularly significant. Inna Rusina emphasizes that, in addition to planned work, specialists are engaged in examining museum collections, evacuating, and preserving artworks.

The exhibits must be carefully packaged to be stored in a proper microclimate, — she stresses.

According to her, unlike past decades, today this field employs highly qualified professionals.

Restorers from Kharkiv have been collaborating with our center for over ten years. Previously, I conducted internships for many artists aspiring to become restorers. However, not all artists can be restorers, while restorers can be artists, — Rusina adds with a smile.

Hall «Inspiration»

In this part of the exhibition, visitors can familiarize themselves with Inna Rusina's painterly works.

Fifteen works in the genres of still life, portrait, and landscape reflect her unique style developed over years of creative activity.

The artist confesses that she was particularly influenced by Sandro Botticelli, whose works she has seen twice at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

Paintings must be seen live. The impressions they create cannot be conveyed in words, — shares Inna Rusina.
