Social Media Silence: Criticism of Platform X
Georgiy Tikhy, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed his discontent with social media platform X for its decision to label posts about Ukrainian children who have fallen victim to Russian shelling as «shocking content».
He claimed that this decision is an attempt to conceal the war crimes committed by Russia.
«Seriously, X? Since when has the death of Ukrainian children been considered «shocking content”? This is not merely about protecting users from graphic images. It is an effort to hide Russia's war crimes. This is unacceptable, and this decision should be reversed,» Tikhy wrote in his post.
He attached a screenshot to his message to illustrate how the social media platform obscured a publication from the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs page.
The image shows that platform X has hidden a post containing statistical data about at least 616 Ukrainian children killed by Russia and 1869 injured since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
