Return of Fallen Soldiers: Key Updates
On October 23, Ukraine received the repatriation of 1000 bodies, which according to Russian sources belong to Ukrainian servicemen. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies shortly.
The repatriation involved the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center of the Security Service, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner, the Secretariat for Missing Persons, the State Emergency Service, and other defense and security entities.
Additionally, the Coordination Headquarters expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.
The Armed Forces are transferring the repatriated individuals to specialized state institutions and arranging for the handover of deceased individuals to law enforcement and forensic experts within the Ministry of Health system.
