Sporting Competitions in Odesa: New Achievements for Students
Odesa recently completed the II (territorial) stage of competitions under the nationwide sports and wellness project «Side by Side National School Leagues» for students of general education institutions in the 2024/2025 academic year.
School teams vied for victory in volleyball and rugby-5.
Following the results of the volleyball matches for girls in grades 5-9, the teams from Odesa Lyceums No. 7, 56, 86, and Odesa Gymnasium No. 25 advanced to the city III stage. Among girls in grades 9-11, the top teams were Odesa Lyceums No. 13, 51, 62, and the team from Odesa Specialized School No. 32.
In the volleyball competitions for boys in grades 5-9, the winners were the teams from Odesa Lyceums No. 5, 89, and Odesa Gymnasium No. 77, while for boys in grades 9-11, the champions included Odesa Lyceums No. 24, 84, «Langeronivskyi», and the team from Odesa Specialized School No. 32.
For the first time, the rugby-5 competitions for students of general education institutions took place in the sports halls of the city. This exciting game enhances speed, coordination, team spirit, and strategic thinking, allowing teams to create unique tactical situations that require good communication and interaction from the players.
The teams from Odesa Lyceums No. 28, 40, and 69 claimed victory in the II stage of the rugby-5 competitions.
All participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, skill, and unwavering determination to win. New heights lie ahead, and teams are diligently preparing for the upcoming competitions.

The project «Side by Side National School Leagues» represents the largest student competitions in the country for students of general education institutions in the 2024/2025 academic year, held under the slogan «Together We Will Win». The goal is to increase the number of students regularly engaging in sports and leading a healthy lifestyle.
