Ukraine Wins in 3x3 Basketball at International Tournament

Today, June 18, the Ukraine 3x3 basketball team kicked off their campaign in the second round of the Women's Series taking place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The first opponent for the Ukrainian athletes was the German team, which provided a tough challenge. However, our players proved to be stronger.

The Germans took an early lead, creating a 4-point gap. Despite their solid defense, the Ukrainian team gradually caught up.

The decisive shot, made with a foul, was scored by Anzhelika Lyashko. She converted free throws with 20 seconds left, granting Ukraine their first lead in the match (15:13).

In the remaining time, Germany attempted to come back, but an airball and a steal by Myriam Uro-Nile sealed the victory for the Ukrainian team.

As a reminder, today, June 18, the Ukrainians will play their second match of the group stage. Their opponents will be the basketball players from Singapore. This game is set to start at 13:20 Kyiv time.

It is also worth noting that at 11:30, Germany will face Singapore. A loss for the German team will secure Ukraine a spot in the Women's Series 3x3 playoffs. Meanwhile, a win for Ukraine in the second match will allow them to advance to the playoffs from the top position.
