Enhancing Awareness of Mental Health in Odessa
Throughout August 2025, educational institutions in the communal ownership of Odessa conducted a series of activities aimed at raising awareness among participants in the educational process regarding mental health, developing self-regulation skills, and fostering psychological well-being.
For students, the following activities were organized:
- interactive sessions based on the materials of the «Visual Album» «My Mood», «Help a Friend», «Our Goals for the Future», «How to Maintain Mental Health», etc.;
- art therapy and relaxation exercises «Body Colors», «Alphabet of Strength», «Quiet Room»;
- games to create psychological comfort «Gift Me a Smile», «Compliments», «My Mood», «Gift to a Friend»;
- quest «We Are from the Future» (to develop emotional intelligence and team interaction);
- class hours «Mental Health as an Important Component of Life», «Supporting Students' Mental Health Daily»;
- sporte festival «United by Sport» within the framework of «Sensotech. How Are You?».
Teachers participated in training sessions, seminars, and workshops on topics such as «Ecology of the Soul. Preventing Emotional Burnout», «Teachers' Psychosocial Health: How Not to Burn Out», «How to Care for Your Mental Health as a Teacher?», «Work-Life Balance», «Safe School. The Masks of Bullying».
Practical exercises like «How to Calm Anxiety», workshops on «Emotional Literacy: How Teachers Can Maintain Balance», and quizzes for psychological relief were also conducted.
Additionally, as part of informational and educational activities, video presentations and screenings of videos titled «Stress and Anxiety: How to Protect Mental Health» and animated clips with recommendations for psychological support were organized.
Posters with QR codes of the nationwide mental health program «How Are You?» and printed informational materials (leaflets) were placed in accessible areas for visitors.
Students and teachers have the opportunity to consult with the school's practical psychologist for mental health consultations and support.
