Romani Culture Celebration in Odessa
The Romani culture is a vibrant explosion of colors, music, and dance. Today, everyone who visited the City Garden of Odessa experienced this at the festival organized as part of the «Multicultural Weeks in Odessa» initiative. Mayor Gennady Trukhanov expressed gratitude to the Romani communities of Odesa for their support of this initiative and for creating a rich cultural program. He also noted that on May 21, Ukraine officially celebrated the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity for the first time.
«For Odessa, this is not just a date on the calendar — it is our way of life. We continuously strive to create a space for mutual respect, and such events contribute to building a harmonious and tolerant society. Odessa is a home for all,» — emphasized Gennady Trukhanov.
Besides the cultural program, festival attendees had the opportunity to explore traditional Romani crafts, enjoy authentic cuisine, and participate in various activities.
