Modern Scanning Systems at Ukrainian Borders
By the end of 2025, modern scanning systems for railway wagons will be introduced at Ukrainian borders. This will enable customs officials to perform non-intrusive checks, meaning they can inspect cargo without opening wagons or containers. This was announced by the OVA press service. How does it work? The fully automated system operates 24/7; scanners can detect even the smallest details hidden in the walls or floors of wagons; passenger cars and locomotives are automatically excluded from inspection. Scanners are capable of identifying smuggled goods, drugs, tobacco products, and other prohibited substances before they enter circulation. The latest technologies not only enhance the efficiency of customs control but also reduce corruption risks and speed up border processes. In the context of martial law and logistics restructuring, this is extremely important for the economic stability of the state. The first scanners will be installed at the crossing points "Mostyska-2" and "Yahodyn" (on the border with Poland). Later, they will be deployed to other areas.
