Financial Assistance for Newborns in 2025
In 2025, families welcoming a new child will continue to receive financial support in the form of compensation for the material assistance known as the “baby package”.
This one-time payment is intended for purchasing essential items for newborns, including care products, diapers, baby clothing and footwear, food, dishes, toys, and textiles such as blankets and towels.
The compensation is available to parents of newborns or those acting as guardians, foster parents, or adoptive parents. Funds are transferred to a special account in a bank participating in the monetization program.
The amount of compensation is determined based on the minimum subsistence level for children under six years old and will be 7689 UAH starting January 1, 2025.
To receive the compensation, one must:
- personally submit an application to the social services;
- send the application by mail;
- utilize electronic means through the “eMaljatko” platform.
It is important to submit the request for compensation no later than one year after the child's birth.
Within a year, recipients can use the funds to purchase baby items at stores included in the program participant list. This list will be published on the Ministry of Social Policy's website.
Additionally, parents can receive the natural assistance known as the “baby package”, which includes over 50 quality baby items. In 2025, new useful products like reusable diapers and warm clothing were added. A practical guide for parents titled “From Birth to One Year”, developed with the support of UNICEF, is also included.
