Illegal Fishing Activity Detected in Ukraine
During a fish protection raid conducted by state inspectors together with border guard officers and police, a serious violation of fishing regulations was discovered.
This was reported by the Odesa Fish Protection Patrol.
In the Bilhorod Canal, a man was caught illegally catching fish using prohibited tools – nets. As a result of his actions, he caught 9 white amurs and 34 carp, totaling over 100 kg.
The damage caused to Ukraine's fish stocks amounted to 158,746 hryvnias. A crime scene investigation team from the National Police was called to the scene. An administrative report was filed against the offender, and materials are being prepared to initiate a criminal case. The police seized the illegally caught fish, nets, and a wooden boat.
