Launch of the Hazardous Areas Registry in Ukraine

In December, Ukraine will initiate a Registry of lands potentially contaminated with explosive objects, stated Igor Klymenko in an interview with «Unified News».

While speaking with reporters in Cherkasy during SES training exercises, the Interior Minister revealed that since the onset of the full-scale war, their units have cleared over 250,000 hectares, confiscating and destroying 790,000 explosive objects.

Klymenko emphasized that specialists are working to ensure that the Registry of hazardous areas becomes accessible to legal entities starting in 2026. After testing, it will also be available to individuals with property rights to specific land plots.

Additionally, during his visit to the site where bomb disposal divers train, the Minister announced plans to increase the unit's staff to 500 people, which is a vital part of the demining ecosystem:

«The demining ecosystem consists of several levels: Mine Action Office, Humanitarian Demining Center, certification of specialists, underwater demining. This system is already in place and operational,» said Igor Klymenko.
