Stamp Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Odessa Museum

The Odessa Archaeological Museum, in collaboration with “Ukrposhta”, has launched a stamp celebrating the museum's 200th anniversary.

This announcement was made on the museum's official page.

The stamp showcases the most renowned artifacts from the Odessa Archaeological Museum's collection.

“These artifacts are currently kept in the museum's storerooms, awaiting better days. While they wait, you can acquire their image in a format of 29.58x33 mm”, – the announcement states.

Let us remind you that the Odessa Archaeological Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is the oldest archaeological museum in the country, celebrating its 200th anniversary this year, and it houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in Ukraine. This includes sarcophagi, mummified remains, stelae, ushabti, scarabs, amulets, fragments of papyrus, and more. This unique collection was compiled during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
