Open Wushu Training at the Inclusive Beach in Odessa

This past weekend in Odessa, an open training session for wushu took place at inclusive beach number 11. The event was held outdoors, barefoot on the sand, capturing the essence of summer.

Veterans of war participated, eagerly trying their hand at this new sport. Various styles of wushu were showcased during the session — including contact and non-contact, dynamic and health-oriented approaches. Everyone had the opportunity to learn techniques, feel the rhythm of movement, and discover their inner balance.

The event exemplified how an inclusive space can be vibrant and welcoming to people of diverse backgrounds.

The masterclass was conducted by:
Contact Wushu (self-defense):

  • Volodymyr Shevchenko — Master of Sports of Ukraine, European Champion, multiple-time Champion of Ukraine, licensed participant of the upcoming World Games in Wushu Sanda;
  • Oleksandr Mykolaiovych Berezhnyi — Honored Coach of Ukraine, senior coach of Wushu Sanda at the Odessa Wushu Federation;
  • Serhii Fedorovych Muntyanu — war veteran, combat participant, Wushu Sanda coach at the Odessa Wushu Federation.
