New Transport Initiatives in Odessa
Odessa has joined the Ukrainian delegation at the UITP 2025 International Urban Transport Summit held in Hamburg. This event brought together representatives from key European and international institutions supporting the recovery of Ukraine's transport infrastructure.
City officials from the transport departments participated in discussions focusing on vital issues concerning the modernization of the transport system. They engaged in strategic meetings with the European Commission, European Investment Bank, World Bank, and other significant organizations.
Specifically, the sessions addressed funding opportunities for transport modernization projects, international support, humanitarian initiatives, as well as sustainable development projects and post-war recovery plans.
Preliminary conditions for securing funding were outlined, covering the purchase of new transport vehicles, infrastructure upgrades, and digital solutions, including the implementation of a unified ticketing system.
Odessa's participation in international events is a significant step not only for reinforcing partnership ties but also for advancing the sustainable transport system within the city.
