Discussion on Anti-Corruption Reforms in Ukraine

Herman Halushchenko, the Minister of Justice, met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, led by mission chief Gavin Gray, to discuss the implementation of the IMF program under the Extended Fund Facility and anti-corruption initiatives.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.

The Minister shared with partners key reforms in the fight against corruption and outlined priorities for the coming year.

«Our strategy in the anti-corruption area goes beyond just developing legislation. The entire digital transformation of justice aims to reduce corruption risks. Wherever we eliminate the human factor from the process, we avoid corruption. Among such initiatives are the electronic court, e-notary (which we are already testing with notaries), and the digitization of enforcement proceedings,» Halushchenko stated.

He emphasized that anti-corruption reforms are a top priority for the ministry and are closely linked to Ukraine's European integration commitments, as outlined in the Roadmap for the Rule of Law.

The parties also discussed issues related to judicial reform, access to judicial expertise, and the execution of decisions by the European Court of Human Rights.

In conclusion, Halushchenko reiterated that the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine remains committed to further reforms in the area of fighting corruption, as confirmed by commitments outlined in the Memorandum with the IMF, the Ukraine Facility Plan, and the Roadmap for the Rule of Law.
