Ex-Police Officer Sentenced for Justifying Russian Aggression
A former police officer in Odesa has been sentenced to 5 years for justifying Russian aggression.
According to the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, the woman was found guilty of disseminating materials that justified Russia's aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014. The court imposed a sentence of 5 years in prison.
"Prosecutors proved that while working as an investigator in the Odesa police, the woman openly criticized the authorities and supported the actions of the occupiers. Through her Instagram account, which had over 7,000 followers, she spread materials denying and justifying the armed aggression by Russia. To hide her activities, she used software to mask her IP address.
During the court proceedings, the accused did not admit her guilt. She awaited the court's verdict in custody," the report states.
