New Inclusive Beach in Odesa: A Step Towards Accessibility
On July 1, 2025, a new inclusive beach was inaugurated at the 11th station of the Great Fountain. This initiative marks a significant step towards developing an accessible environment in Odesa, providing opportunities for veterans, people with disabilities, and other mobility-impaired groups to enjoy recreation.
This beach serves as a prime example of how spaces can be transformed for diverse individuals. Tetyana Lomakina, the Presidential Commissioner for Accessibility in Ukraine, made this statement during her visit to Odesa. She highly praised the city’s efforts in establishing the beach, noting that the construction process was closely monitored to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
«Step by step, our coastline is becoming a barrier-free space. The beach is rarely empty; it attracts both tourists and local residents,» emphasized Tetyana Lomakina.
