Inspection of Leased Beaches in Odesa: Results of the Review

The inspection of leased beaches in the Kyiv district of Odesa has concluded. A working group, established by the order of the Odesa city mayor, conducted a thorough examination of the beach areas, focusing on compliance with operational regulations, sanitary conditions, and ensuring free access for all citizens.

The group included representatives from local authorities, the Accessibility Council, and veterans' organizations.

During the inspection, key requirements were checked:

  • at least 30% of the leased area must be available for public use;
  • absence of temporary structures on the sand;
  • compliance with sanitary norms;
  • ensuring unobstructed passage along the waterline and between beach sections.

The working group identified several violations: the placement of sun loungers directly by the water, which obstructs passage, as well as an instance of unauthorized trading. This incident was documented by the police and a report was filed.

Recommendations were also provided to lessees regarding improving accessibility conditions.

A comprehensive report with conclusions and suggestions for the next recreational season will be prepared based on the inspection results.

The next step is the inspection of the beaches in the Primorsky district of Odesa.
