Three Fake Soldiers Arrested After Assaulting Cyclist in Chornomorsk

In the city of Chornomorsk, located in the Odesa region, three individuals posing as military personnel assaulted a 41-year-old cyclist. They beat him and forced him into a car while demanding to see his documents. Law enforcement officials have already informed the suspects of their charges.

Incident details: "The event took place on the highway near Chornomorsk. Three young men in military uniforms blocked the cyclist's path, identified themselves as workers from the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, and began to demand documents while physically assaulting him".

According to the police, the assailants have no affiliation with military service and forcibly placed the victim in their vehicle.

The victim managed to report the incident by calling the emergency line 102. Police located him and determined that the attackers were members of a local public organization not authorized to conduct mobilization activities.

Authorities seized the vehicle used in the attack, along with the membership credentials of the suspects, aged 22, 25, and 27, and other material evidence relevant to the investigation.

Currently, the offenders have been charged with usurpation of power and illegal deprivation of liberty, accompanied by physical violence. Under the law, they face up to five years in prison. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
