Showcasing Ukraine's Talents at the "Colors of Spring" Music Competition

From April 14 to 16, 2025, the Odessa School of Arts No. 1 named after E.G. Gilels hosted the national competition for folk instrument performers titled «Colors of Spring».

A total of 111 gifted participants took part, including children and youth from various art educational institutions across Ukraine: 77 soloists and 8 ensembles.

The participants hailed from a wide geographical area: Odessa, Chornomorsk, Izmail, Tatarbunary, Pechenizyn (Ivano-Frankivsk region), Lokachi (Volyn region), Cherkasy, Hordynia (Chernihiv region), Chernihiv, Smila (Cherkasy region), Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Sloboda (Cherkasy region), Lutsk, and Kharkiv.

On April 16, a gala concert and an awards ceremony for the winners of the «Colors of Spring» competition took place.

The laureates were awarded certificates and participated in the concert.

As part of the competition, a master class and a chamber concert were held featuring the People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr Anatoliyovych Murza from the Odessa National Music Academy named after A.V. Nezhdanova, as well as a creative meeting with the founder of the bandura class at the Odessa National Music Academy, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Candidate of Art Studies, Professor Nina Vasylivna Morozevych.

A presentation on the topic of «Video Composition in the Concert Performance of Modern Guitarists as a Factor for Expanding Communicative Properties» was also conducted (presented by Doctor of Arts, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Music at Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, lecturer at the Department of Folk Instruments at the Odessa National Music Academy named after A.V. Nezhdanova, Ivan Ivanovych Kosynets).
