Volleyball Tournament in Odesa: New Champions Emerge
The first round of the open volleyball tournament «Southern League» was held in Odesa for girls in two age categories: 2008 and 2010.
Eleven teams from Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Zhytomyr participated in the competition. The tournament format includes 4 regular rounds and 1 final.
In the 2008 age category, the Odesa team «Lantana» performed excellently, winning all matches and conceding only two sets throughout the round. The second place was claimed by the athletes from Mykolaiv, while the bronze went to the team from Kryvyi Rih.
In the 2010 category, the Odesa team «Dzhinistra» achieved a convincing victory. The second position was secured by the athletes from Zhytomyr, and the third place was taken by the team from Mykolaiv.
The «Dzhinistra» team comprised players specializing in beach volleyball.
