Youth Event Ahead of Ukraine's Independence Day
On the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day, juvenile police in Odessa hosted an event for young people. The event was aimed at teenagers under preventive supervision and children from families facing difficult circumstances. The Odessa zoo served as the venue, where the youth enjoyed a festive atmosphere with the support of the zoo's management and community representatives.
The children had the opportunity to see a variety of animals, including playful monkeys, majestic bears, and graceful elephants. They learned about the animals' lives, habits, and diets. The event featured face painting artists, as well as an archer who taught the children to shoot arrows. All participants enjoyed delicious treats.
Additionally, representatives from the State Emergency Service joined the event, demonstrating fire extinguishing techniques and teaching safe handling of fire. The juvenile police distributed reflective vests and safety reminders regarding road rules and water safety. They discussed rules for safe behavior at home, outdoors, and in school, as the new academic year approaches. The police also emphasized mine safety, explaining how to react upon discovering dangerous items.
“We aim not only to bring joy to children but also to instill in them the importance of valuing their safety and the safety of those around them,” stated Yuriy Lukyanchuk, acting head of the juvenile prevention sector.
