Expansion of the Digital Ministry's Powers in Ukraine
On April 4, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to enhance the role of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in the field of digital innovations and technologies, including robotics and artificial intelligence development.
This was announced by government representative Taras Melnychuk during a session of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the amendments to the regulations concerning the Digital Ministry, the following key tasks have been established:
supporting the development of robotics, semiconductor technologies, and domestic production of innovative products for the defense sector;
setting priority areas and regulatory framework;
providing financial support to enterprises engaged in the development of robotics and unmanned technologies;
coordinating testing and research;
creating infrastructure for testing and demonstrating new technology samples;
promoting the development of artificial intelligence in Ukraine.
It is also noteworthy that the Cabinet of Ministers transferred the regulation of gambling and lotteries from the Gambling Business Commission (KRAIL) to the Digital Ministry.
