Crackdown on Illegal Gambling in Odessa
Under the supervision of the Odessa regional prosecutor's office, a series of raids were conducted in connection with a criminal case regarding the organization and operation of illegal gambling. As a result, equipment valued at over 54 million UAH was seized.
Investigators found that a network of illegal gambling establishments had been operating in Odessa for an extended period without registering as a legal entity and without the necessary licenses, thus avoiding tax payments.
The gambling halls were located in non-residential premises and operated in a closed mode, without visible signs or advertisements. Players were invited only by prior arrangement, and outsiders could enter only by recommendation from regular clients.
During the authorized searches, more than 3000 units of computer equipment were discovered and seized, including laptops, monitors, CPUs, servers, mobile phones, as well as cash and bank cards.
Additionally, a warehouse was found that was used for storing technical devices and furniture intended for setting up new gambling halls.
Currently, efforts are underway to identify all individuals involved in the organization and conduct of illegal activities.
The preliminary investigation is being carried out by detectives of the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Odessa region.
