Unusual Rescue Operations in Odesa
Yesterday in Odesa, emergency workers went out on two unusual calls. Throughout the day, they rescued a dog that had fallen into a pit, and later helped a cat that was stuck in a tree. Both animals emerged unscathed. This was reported on Saturday, October 18, by the Main Department of Emergency Services in the Odesa region.
The first incident occurred during the day on the 19th kilometer of the Starokyivska road. A dog fell into a deep pit and was unable to escape on its own. Rescuers, utilizing a rope and ladder, descended and carefully lifted the animal to the surface. Fortunately, the dog was unharmed and quickly recovered from the stress.
The second call came in the evening — this time from Leontovych Street. Local residents reported that a cat had been sitting high in a tree for several hours, meowing and unwilling to come down. Rescuers reached the animal using a ladder and returned it to its owners.
