Renovation of the Fountain in Istanbul Park, Odesa
The renovation of the «Grotto with Pool» fountain in Istanbul Park, Odesa has commenced. This artificial grotto was established on the slopes of Primorsky Boulevard at the end of the 19th century and initially served as a drainage system, channeling water from a nearby fountain. With the advent of the water supply system, this function became obsolete, and the grotto was integrated into the park.
During the 2017 reconstruction, it was transformed into a fountain, and maintenance was handed over to the Municipal Enterprise «Service Center».
Over the past seven years since the reconstruction, the grotto has been affected by environmental factors. Specifically, rain and snow runoff from the slopes has compromised the waterproofing layer of the fountain basin.
The main activities planned during the capital renovation include clearing the area of debris, managing rainwater drainage from the fountain's perimeter, conducting waterproofing work, and retiling the fountain basin.
The completion of these works is scheduled for the end of October 2025.
